Report: Richardson not coming to ASU

The Nolan Richardson sweepstakes are apparently over for Arkansas State.Richardson told the Arkansas News Bureau in a phone conversation Tuesday afternoon that he would not be the next men’s head basketball coach at ASU.

“I’m no longer involved with the job,” Richardson said. “It just didn’t fit for me. We couldn’t agree on several things, not just one.”

ASU sports information director Jerry Scott could neither confirm nor deny the report.

Scott said that the athletic department’s policy for the coaching search from the beginning was that there would be no comment on potential candidates due to “confidentiality” issues.

Richardson told the Arkansas News Bureau that he visited with ASU officials, including Chancellor Robert Potts, Tuesday morning and informed them of his decision.

While Richardson apparently will not be at the helm of the men’s basketball program as they enter a new era as the Red Wolves, he still has an interest in coaching.

“It’s clear now if the right situation comes about, that’s what it’s all about, trying to pick out the right situation,” Richardson said.

The Herald has been unable to reach Richardson for comment.

I’ve got a feeling I’ll take a beating over this picture, but…

I just wanted to post it since McCain clinched the Republican nomination for President.

Let’s just say I’d, um, spent some time in the sun…and leave it at that. ‘K?

Packin’ it in. Get it? He played for the “Packers.” And now he’s retiring Packin’ it in. I am a genius.

I dig his sweat bands.

Here’s a sucky cameraphone shot of Shaq and Nash from last week’s Grizzlies-Suns game. Also sucky: the Grizzlies.

Not sucky: Sara. She got us 4th row seats. She’s super duper.

Cultural Sharing Day

Remember Comp II-ers that we do cultural sharing today and tomorrow! I will, of course, be bringing pictures of me and Britney before all the drama.
